This manuscript, which has survived intact, is composed of 96 leaves. It documents the period when Leonardo was devoting his attention to the great classical works, especially in geometry and mechanics (Euclid and Archimedes), and attempting to incorporate their achievements in his work. Ms. M also provides evidence of his efforts to further his knowledge of Aristotle's Physics. Lastly, the manuscript contains botanical studies and numerous allegorical drawings.
