This minuscule, autograph vellum codex contains 191 leaves, which include a series of free copies of texts and drawings by Taccola. There is also a conspicuous group of studies that exhibit much more complicated mechanisms, which are probably the fruit of Francesco's own investigations. These innovative studies concern mills, pumps, carts and machines to lift and displace weights.
