Regular polyhedra and heavenly spheres

This wooden model represents the complex three-dimensional structure that Kepler conceived to explain the distances of the planets from the Sun. He tried to put the planetary distances in relation with the five regular nested solids. The model is exactly reconstructed according to the great plate contained in the Secret of the Cosmos, published in 1596.
