A maker and seller of numerous geodesic and meteorological instruments, Paggi had a workshop in Via Martelli in Florence. Highly appreciated by Filippo Cecchi (1822-1887). In 1855, the Scolopian father Giovanni Antonelli (1818-1872) contributed a paper on a "thermometrograph" built by Paggi to the Atti [Proceedings] of the Accademia dei Georgofili. The following year, Paggi was elected to the Accademia di Arti e Manifatture in Florence.
