Inaugurated in April 2002, the Museum preserves minerals collected as of the 1950s and donated by the citizens and miners of Rio nell’Elba. The mineral collection includes samples from the iron-rich mining areas in eastern Elba, several of which are of considerable scientific value. The collection is exhibited along a photo-learning trail on the principal extraction sites.
