Mobile sundial, probably early Ptolemaic era
Turin, Museo delle Antichità Egizie, Cat. 7353

An oblique hole on its upper face is the distinguishing feature of this small object designed for use by members of the royal family. A plumb line was undoubtedly applied to ensure that the base was perfectly horizontal. The Sun god Horus is depicted on the outer face.
