Solution

Homogeneous mixture of two or more substances. By convention, the component of which a lesser quantity is present is called the solute, while the component of which a greater quantity is present is called the solvent. Both solute and solvent may be solid, liquid, or gaseous. The classic solution is one in which a solid solute (such as sugar) is dissolved in a liquid solvent (generally water).
