Deleuil firm

Important French maker of scientific instruments, specialized in precision scales. Founded c. 1820 by Louis Joseph Deleuil (1795-1862), succeeded by his son Jean Adrien (1825-94). In addition to standard scales, weights and measures, the firm produced scientific instruments including barometers, microscopes, and pneumatic pumps.
