Jacques Bernoulli

A member of a family of illustrious physicists and mathematicians. Besides mathematics, his wide-ranging interests extended to astronomy and mechanics. He made many crucial scientific contributions to probability theory as applied to statistics, the study of variations, the study of complex curves, and integral and differential calculus.
