Jean-Baptiste Le Roy
1720-1800

French physicist, son of the well-known clockmaker Julien Le Roy (1686-1759). His research concentrated on electrostatics. Designed improvements to lightning rods and hydrometers. Also studied issues concerning ventilation in public places. In 1751, became a member of the Académie des Sciences of Paris.
