The case is divided into twenty-one compartments. It contains the following precision-made brass instruments: military compasses fitted with a magnetic compass whose cover is signed "Dominicus Lusverg Roma"; a square; a pair of dividers; an instrument to draw parallel lines; a folding linear measure; a bar to draw ellipses, with two points, one of which slides; a pair of dividers with octagonal head and curved legs; another bar to draw ellipses with two sliding points and pencil-holder, signed "Iacobus Lusverg Roma"; and a gunner's quadrant with five viewers and a fitting for a tripod, signed "Iacobus Lusverg Rome."
