Folding rule consisting of two octagonal-section bars bearing measurement scales on their sides: the "mercantile" palm, the "architectural" palm, the Greek and Roman foot, and foot measures in use in various European locations (Vienna, Constantinople, Sweden, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Turin, Danzig [Gdansk], Genoa, Madrid and the Rhone region). One side is engraved with the signature of the maker, Antoine La Motte, about whom we have no information.
