Compound microscope, similar to microscope VIII.5, with no lenses (was designed for two). The upper part screws into the lower part to vary the inter-lens distance. The instrument is screwed onto a tripod. Sent to London in 1876 for an exhibition of scientific instruments, where it was described as a Galilean microscope (occhialino). Given its technical characteristics and the material used (brass), the instrument was probably built in the nineteenth century.
