The dial of this hanging clock displays twelve hours and markings for the quarter-hours. The fretworked hand is original and precision-made. The movement has a square base and is housed in a cage with small pillars topped by finials. The going train and chime train are driven by weights with ropes. The chime train has a regulator with a six-stroke repeating chime, possibly original. There are also a small flywheel with four precision-made, engraved, and gilded profiled blades, and a star wheel for the release, carrying twelve pairs of triangular spokes. The hammer axle is missing. Converted into a pendulum clock toward the late seventeenth century and further altered in the second half of the eighteenth century. Despite the changes, the piece was clearly of above-average quality.
