In the lunette above the brass dial are engraved a monogram with interlaced letters and "Firenze." There are Roman hour numerals and a subdivision into quarter-hours and half-hours. The hand is missing. Two trains are placed one behind the another: the going train is weight-driven and has a counterweight winding and a verge escapement with a horizontal contrate wheel and a short pendulum integral with the verge and a rather large lens-shaped bob; the chime train is missing the pulley for the rope and the main wheel. There is a 12-stroke chime regulator. The bell is missing, but the position and bulk of the hammer head suggest a large bell placed at the center with side support. The clock may have been used as a hanging clock or housed in a plain wooden case.
