These serve as hands, indicating the diurnal and nocturnal hours on the upper semicircle divided into twelve hours in Roman numerals. A rotating steel hand shows the minutes along the entire rim, engraved with Arabic five-minute numerals. The dial and movement are signed "Markwick, London."
