Two drawers of the surgical instrument kit designed by Giovanni Alessandro Brambilla contain instruments for operations on the eye:

Drawer no. VII, PRO CATARACTA, contains instruments (needles, small knives, hooks, small scissors, tweezers, small spoons) for the two types of operation performed on the crystalline lens at the time: extraction and deposition of the lens in the declivate part of the eyeball;

No. VIII, PRO FISTULA LACRIMALI ET PALPEBERIS, contains needles, probes, cannules, and other implements to restore the permeability of the tear ducts.

The instruments were made by the cutler Joseph Malliard.
