        .................................

Eighteenth-century teapot-shaped white porcelain vessels used for herbal teas and brews. Their linear design has only one ornamental element: a curved spout in the shape of an animal head. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the patterns effectively became simpler and more rational, at the expense of artistic refinement. Provenance: Lorraine collections.
