Created in 1991 on the initiative of the Italian Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Universitą e della Ricerca, the Scientific Culture Week aims at making the general public aware of the fascinating topics related to science and technology. Every year the promotion of initiatives focusing on different scientific themes helps to disseminate scientific values and stimulates reflection on the role played by science in everyday life.
The 2006 edition, which will take place from March 13th to 19th, will deal with the following themes: climate, water, energy, evolution and brain studies.
The initiatives promoted by Tuscan institutions and associations will be published on the Institute and Museum of the History of Science website (www.imss.fi.it).
