For the first time 400 glass objects originating, for the most part, from Pompeii and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, as well as thirteen murals found in the area of the Vesuvius, and ten busts from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, cross the borders of Italy to be presented in Paris. The exhibition "Arts et Sciences. Le Verre dans l'Empire Romain" will open on January 31th in the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris (30, avenue Corentin-Cariou), where it will be held until August 27th. "Arts et Sciences. Le Verre dans l'Empire romain" represents the French edition of "Vitrum - Il vetro fra arte e scienza nel mondo romano" (Vitrum - Glass Between Art and Science in the Roman World), which was presented in Florence at the Museo degli Argenti of Palazzo Pitti from March 27th, 2004 to January 16th, 2005. |
