The volume "Girolamo Fracastoro: Fra medicina, filosofia e scienze della natura" (Girolamo Fracastoro: Between Medicine, Philosophy and Natural Sciences), edited by Alessandro Pastore and Enrico Peruzzi, contains the papers presented at the conference held in Verona and Padua in October 2003 on the occasion of the anniversary of the death of the Veronese physician (1553). Arranged in four sections, these papers deal with aspects of Fracastoro's life and the diffusion of his ways of thinking, focusing particularly on his studies regarding the nature of contagious diseases, astronomy, natural sciences and the basic aspects of his philosophical speculations (gnoseology, psychology and poetics). The book has been published by Olschki as part of the series "Biblioteca di Nuncius. Studi e testi" (no. 58). |
