Open Day and Educational Activities 2006/2007

Description:	On September 26, 2006, the IMSS opened its doors to teachers and presented the educational activities planned for the 2006/2007 school year. From September 1, 2006 to May 31, 2007, teachers interested in visiting the Museum will have the opportunity to choose among unguided group visits, didactic visits with an educational guide, and specific experience visits including demonstrations of functioning antique instruments and an introduction to the rich history of the collections and the evolution of science. In order to gain a full understanding of the context and importance of the Museum's collections, the interactive workshops focus on the development of the scientific disciplines through hands-on activities and demonstrations using replicas of instruments. This is followed by an accompanied visit to the rooms in the Museum dedicated to the original instruments. This Open Day, organized as part of the "La Primavera della Scienza" project, also took place in other participating institutions (in Milan, Naples, Pavia, Trento and Trieste) on the same day.
