Description: |
In May 2004 the Library of the Institute and Museum of the History of Science acquired the scientific section of the personal library of the engineer Dino Chiaraviglio, Giovanni Giolitti's son-in-law and well-known personality in the late 19th-early 20th century Turin. The collection is made up of approximately 1,800 works (among them monographs, pamphlets and one hundred reviews), published between the 2nd half of the 19th and the 1st half of the 20th centuries and mainly dealing with chemistry and chemical technologies. In June 2006 the organising and the cataloguing began and the entire collection is now available to scholars and consultable via the Library's online catalogue using traditional search methods. From the access page for the online catalogue (http://biblioteca.imss.fi.it/LV2_1bin/LibriVision), clicking on "Chiaraviglio Collection" accesses a list in short format of the three typologies: monographs, pamphlets and reviews.
