The Sundial in Piazza dei Giudici

Description:	Due to the agreement between the Comune di Firenze, the Scuola Professionale Edile in Florence and the IMSS, the installation of a great sundial in piazza dei Giudici has officially begun. The operation was made possible thanks to the financial contribution of the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and the support of the Camera di Commercio of Florence. The topographical survey of the area in front of the Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, where the sundial will be installed, was made in October by the students of the surveying course of the Scuola Professionale Edile in Florence, coordinated by Marco Bini, teacher at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence. In February 2007 the construction will begin, while the inauguration of the sundial is scheduled for the Summer solstice 2007.
