Apiarium. The preparatory materials

Description:	The second volume of Federico Cesi's edition of the "Apiarium" presents the transcription of the preparatory materials of the work, contained in sheets 411r-549r of the "Archivio Linceo IV" manuscript of the Biblioteca of the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and the Biblioteca Corsiniana in Rome. These are Cesi's autograph notes which were used to draft the work in 1625, the transcription of which enables the reader to almost entirely reconstruct the genesis of the "Apiarium", from the early drafts right up the versions ready to be handed to the printer.
