Description: |
On May 21, the Senate Library "Giovanni Spadolini" in Rome opened its doors to the "Seminar on the Galileo Satellite Navigation Programme", organized by the Italian Parliamentary Delegation at the Assembly of the Western Europe Union, chaired by Senator Giannicola Sinisi. In order to underline the importance of the innumerable practical applications of the geopositioning program "Galileo", the international seminar was enriched by the exhibition "Galileo and Longitude", conceived by the IMSS with the support of Finmeccanica Group and opened to the public from May 21 to 25. The exhibition, curated by Giorgio Strano, presented a selection of instruments and printed documents aiming to highlight Galileo Galilei's endeavours in trying to determine longitude at sea by observing Jupiter's satellites. |
