The International Galilean Bibliography, edited by Patrizia Ruffo, was recently acknowledged in the prestigious "New Dictionary of Scientific Biography", published as a supplement to the well-known "Dictionary of Scientific Biography" (New York, 1981). In volume 3, the entry devoted to Galileo Galilei reports the following: "The most useful and complete bibliographical resource in the field of Galilean studies is the International Galilean Bibliography, edited by the Institute and Museum of History of Science in Florence. Covering the entire reception of Galilean work, it lists more than 17,000 records". |
