Opening of the Physics Cabinet of the Istituto Tecnico Toscano

Description:	On September 21st - in the presence of its Director Guido Gori and of its President Paolo Galluzzi - the Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica inaugurated the Cabinet of Physics of the Istituto Tecnico Toscano of Florence. The event follows an accurate campaign of recognition, restoration and cataloguing of the scientific and technological instruments, which are part of the collection. Today, in the renewed rooms of the Cabinet of Physics, the visitors can feel the same atmosphere of the early twentieth-century. The instruments were made by the most renowned French, German and English makers and some of them come from the Workroom belonging to the Cabinet. This kind of instruments prove the interest in the study of applied sciences and in the progress and usefulness of manufacturing industries in Tuscany.
