Area:
Library
Start:
1 October 2007
End:
15 December 2007
Description:
While arranging and describing archival materials, the Gigli collection was recently catalogued: Leonardo Gigli (1863-1908), Florentine physician, became famous for his invention of the wire saw. The collection, made up of approximately 700 documents, includes Gigli's vast private and scientific correspondence, several documents about his professional figure, many writings, notes and the drafts of scientific articles.
The collection was catalogued within the IMSS database and the records related to the collection, series and pamphlets are therefore available in the Library opac (within the IMSS general database or by selecting the "Archive" database).
