Galileo's Telescope. The Instrument that Changed the World

Description:	On the occasion of the opening of "Galileo's Telescope. The Instrument that Changed the World" (Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza, 4 March - 31 December 2008), the IMSS multimedia laboratory created a website devoted to the exhibition (http://brunelleschi.imss.fi.it/telescopiogalileo/index.html). Moreover, the multimedia application of an educational nature dedicated to the Galilean instrument was renovated, as to its content and design. Through the sections History, Explore and Simulation, the user can learn about the history of the instrument and the evolution of telescopy during the 16th and 17th centuries, discover the component parts of the telescope and its functions, and repeat Galileo's astronomical observations, thanks to the interactive animations.
