The 65th volume of the "Biblioteca di Nuncius", edited by Miriam Focaccia and published by Olschki, is dedicated to Bolognese wax-modeller Anna Morandi Manzolini (1714-1774). The book is divided into two parts: a historical introduction - based on existing critical literature - which reconstructs the occurrences of the protagonist and sets them in the scientific and institutional context in which she lived and worked, and a collection of original documents of great importance to comprehend the relationships of the medical milieu of the XVIII century and the fortunes of Anna Morandi and her waxworks within the scientific institutions of her time. |
