Multimedia Catalogue of the Museum of the History of Science

Description:	Issued as a supplement to the prestigious ten-volume Storia della Scienza (History of Science) series published by the Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani, the Italian-language DVD version of the IMSS Multimedia Catalogue comes with a pamphlet dedicated to the institution's history and activities. Published for the first time in 2004 in its online version (in Italian and English) and in two DVD versions (each language separately), the Multimedia Catalogue is an application aimed at presenting the historical-scientific collections conserved in the Museum. Each scientific instrument appearing in the Multimedia Catalogue is accompanied by a profile describing its function. Various types of hypertext links make it possible to visualise images and explore the instrument's links to biographies, glossaries, 3D animations, film footage, and slide shows.
