Description:	In 2008 the IMSS library acquired about 1,400 books and pamphlets (about 500 of which were received as gifts or exchanges), and about another 750 works from the «Castellani Donation». Among the about 900 purchased books, 286 were published in 2008, 274 in 2007, 38 in 2006, etc. As for the country of publication, 265 were published in Italy, 210 in the United States, 125 in the United Kingdom, 91 in Germany, 71 in France, etc. The language of most of the texts is English (390), 256 are in Italian, 95 in German, 84 in French, 21 in Spanish, etc. All of the documents acquired in 2008 have been catalogued (subject indexing, index transcription and cataloguing of single essays in miscellaneous volumes included). They can be researched and found in the library's online catalogue. The articles published in the current issues of the history of science Italian periodicals have been catalogued. Moreover, the works of the «Castellani Donation» as well as all the journal articles and book-reviews of the periodical «Raccolta Vinciana» (issues 1-32, 1905-2007) have been catalogued.
