Inauguration of the Benozzo Gozzoli Museum in Castelfiorentino

On the 30th of January 2009 the Benozzo Gozzoli Museum was inaugurated in Castelfiorentino. It hosts two enormous shrines frescoed in the Valdelsa region by Benozzo Gozzoli in the late 1400s. On this occasion the Institute and Museum of the History of Science collaborated with the Comune of Castelfiorentino to create the museum's website and three videos on the shrines, which show the painting techniques and the modern restoration methods. IMSS also created an interactive application which uses high definition images to view the frescoes in greater detail. These applications are available to visitors at various multimedia posts within the new museum.
