Created in 1991 by the initiative of the Italian Ministero dell'Universitą e della Ricerca, the Scientific Culture Week strives to make the general public aware of the topics related to science and technology. Every year the focus is on different scientific themes that promote to disseminate scientific values and stimulate reflections that science plays in everyday life.
This year the Scientific Cultural Week took place from Monday, March 23rd through Sunday, March 29th.
Saturday March 28th kicked off the first "Saturday with Galileo" at the Institute and Museum of the History of Science at 10:30 am. This is a special visit of IMSS's current exhibition "Scientific Instruments From Antique Florentine Collection" accompanied by an animator dressed up as Galileo Galilei. These special visits will continue every Saturday at 10:30 until the end of May 2009. |
