Le corrispondenze epistolari Brioschi-Cremona e Betti-Genocchi" (Towards the Unification of Italy: The Correspondences Brioschi-Cremona and Betti-Genocchi) presents the letters between Francesco Brioschi (1824-1897, founder and director of the present Politecnico in Milan) and Luigi Cremona (1830-1903, Italian Minister of Education) and those between Enrico Betti (1823-1892, Member of the Superior Council of Education) and Angelo Genocchi (1817-1889, President of the Accademia delle Scienze in Turin). Covering the period from the mid to late 19th century, they provide greater insight into the scientific developments and political institutional arrangements that took place at the time of the formation of the newly unified Italian state.
