EU project SMARTMUSEUM at the conference ''Cultural Heritage on line''

Description:	On December 15 and 16, 2009 Florence will host the conference "Cultural Heritage on line - Empowering Users: An Active Role for User Communities" (www.rinascimento-digitale.it/conference2009.phtml), organized by the Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale. As a part of this event, the workshop "SMARTMUSEUM Technology for Enhancing the Visitor Experience in the Museum and Outdoors" will be held at the Institute and Museum of the History of Science, which is involved in this EU project. The results of the SMARTMUSEUM project will be presented in the course of the workshop. The presentation will include both an indoor and outdoor demo. It will be focused on a special application developed for handheld and smartphone devices to provide multimedia information. The target audience is museum curators, researchers and scholars in the sectors of scientific communication, distribution of multimedia and digital archives. Program participation is free but due to limited capacity registration is required.
