In 2009 the IMSS library acquired around 1,350 books and pamphlets (450 of which were received as gifts or exchanges), in addition to the approximately 1,400 pamphlets from the Stefanelli collection. Among the 900 purchased books, 353 were published in 2009, 322 in 2008, 74 in 2007, etc. As for the country of publication, 248 were published in Italy, 163 in the United States, 157 in the United Kingdom, 78 in Germany, 74 in Spain, 71 in France, etc. The language of the texts is mainly English (391), 239 are in Italian, 96 in French, 69 in Spanish, 62 in German, etc.
All of the documents acquired in 2009 have been catalogued (including subject indexing, index transcription and cataloguing of single essays in miscellaneous volumes). They can be searched and found in the library's online catalogue. The articles published in the current issues of the history of science Italian periodicals have also been catalogued. Moreover, the essays of the "Magazzino universale" (Universal Repository) by G. Pelli Bencivenni as well as the journal articles of the periodical "Memorie di matematica e fisica della Societą italiana" (Memoirs of Mathematics and Physics of the Italian Society) (1782-1799) have been catalogued. |
