Donation of the Piccardi Collection

Description:	In July 2007 the Library of the Institute and Museum of the History of Science was donated the personal archive of Giorgio Piccardi (chemist, director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry from 1947 to 1965 and then of the University Center on the Fluctuating Phenomena). The collection is made up of eleven boxes containing material about the studies and activities of the Florentine scholar, such as: manuscripts (letters, laboratory notebooks, reports of scientific meetings), printed material (mainly press-cuttings), drawings, graphics and photographs. The recently donated collection enriches the collection of about 250 Piccardi's books (mainly pamphlets) that was given to the Library some years ago.
