New projects within the IMSS' Digital Library

Description:	Within the sphere of the "Biblioteca Digitale Italiana" (Italian Digital Library) project, promoted by the Department of Libraries and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the IMSS has recently approved two important initiatives about the Digital Library of the early Accademia dei Lincei (1603-1630), consisting of 150 hard copy manuscripts, mainly preserved in the Library of the Accademia dei Lincei and in the Corsinian Library in Rome, and of the Biblioteca Digitale della Scuola Galileiana, that will lead to the acquisition, in image format, of almost 400 works, many extremely rare. The IMSS' thematic digital archives have recently been enriched with a collection of documents about the scientific activity of Giorgio Roster (1843-1927) and with "Galileana Online", which will grant access (image and full text) to "Galilaeana", the new journal of Galilean studies promoted by the IMSS. Three years after the publishing date, each issue will also be made available online to non-subscribers.
