Area:
Educational department
Start:
13 August 2005
End:
13 September 2005
Description:
Organized by the Palazzo delle Papesse - Contemporary Art Center of Siena, in collaboration with the Institute and Museum of the History of Science, the Florence Children's Museum and the University of Siena, the historical reenactments which took place on August 13th and September 13th at the Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena, have offered a reflection upon the observations of the moon performed by Galileo Galilei in 1633. On the loggia of the Palazzo delle Papesse, specially opened to the public, representatives of the various institutions involved presented the historical events of 1633. Together with an actor dressed as Galileo, those present had the opportunity to observe the moon in conditions analogous to those in which the scientist observed it.
