Description: |
The first phase of cataloguing of the Thèses Médecine Estate, handled by Maria Chiara Flori and Elena Della Valle, has been completed. The estate consists of a collection of the medical theses debated between 1798 and 1860 at the School of Medicine of the University of Paris. Acquired in March 2002 by the library of the Institute and Museum of the History of Science, it is an organized collection of approximately 10,000 hard-to-find documents that were mainly destined for institutional exchanges and therefore usually printed in limited editions. The first section (ca 3,700 records, relative to the years 1798-1825), is now available to scholars and consultable via the library's online catalogue using traditional search methods. From the OPAC entry page (http://biblioteca.imss.fi.it/LV2_1bin/LibriVision), clicking on Thèses Médecine accesses a list in short format ordered by date of publication. |
