Relativity from Galileo to Einstein

Description:	As part of the celebrations of the "World Year of Physics", Florence offers its contribution with an exhibition-laboratory, that will take place on the IMSS, entitled "Relativity from Galileo to Einstein" (December 9th, 2005 – March 12th, 2006). The event will present the history of the physical concept of "Relativity" from the 17th to the 20th centuries. Documents, ancient instruments, interactive exhibits and multimedia animations will allow visitors to follow two different itineraries: the one dedicated to the birth of the Principle of Inertia and of the so-called Galilean Principle of Relativity, the other to the meaning of Einstein's special and general relativity.
