Son of Vincenzo Marzimedici, he was born in Florence in 1563. He entered the priesthood and in 1583 was made canon of the Florentine Metropolitan, and in 1596 was promoted to the rank of bishop of Fiesole, from which office he passed, on July 27, 1605, to the Episcopal See of Florence. He died on August 13, 1630.
