Monument de Ninive découvert et décrit par M.P.E. Botta; mesuré et dessiné par M.E. Flandin
Paris, Imprimerie Nationale, 1849 Vatican City, Pontificio Istituto Biblico, XXIV 27 B 1
The architect Flandin made exceptionally accurate drawings of many of the masterpieces discovered during the first archaeological excavations in Assyria, at Khorsabad (erroneously thought to be Nineveh), carried out by the French Consul Botta in 1843 and 1844. The first volume of his monumental work in five volumes, dedicated to sculpture and architecture, is here on display.
