Archaistic herma of a woman

Grechetto marble, 1st cent. A.D.
Rome, Esquiline, Horti of Maecenas
Rome, Musei Capitolini, inv. 1096

This herma and the one beside it come from a set of four practically identical sculptures. The revival of archaic stylistic motifs can be seen in the drapery and the face.
