Angelo Maria Bandini
A priest and eminent scholar, Bandini published many biographical works and an even greater number of bibliographical works, mainly on the literary history of Tuscany. He wrote about epigraphs and archaeological findings, including a description of Augustus Caesar's obelisk - used as a solar gnomon - discovered in 1748 in Campo Marzio in Rome. In 1756, he became the librarian of the Biblioteca Laurenziana in Florence, which he catalogued. Particularly important is his catalogue of manuscripts.
