A Florentine engineer, he was assigned to the Pisa Bureau of Ditches and Channels at the order of Grand Duke Peter Leopold of Lorraine in 1767. Designated to compile a report on the proposals of Leonardo Ximenes (1716-1786) and Anton Mario Lorgna (1735-1798) concerning the draining of the Bientina Lake, he also designed public buildings in the city of Pisa and its surroundings. In addition, he drew up the first project, judged overly ambitious, for the Leopoldine aqueduct of Colognole.
