Girolamo Borri
Born in Arezzo in 1512, he graduated in theology, philosophy and medicine, and taught the latter two sciences in Rome, Paris, Siena, Pisa and Perugia. In Pisa he was a philosophy lecturer from 1553 to 1559, and again from 1575 to 1587. He had bitter conflicts, motivated by competitiveness and reciprocal envy, with Francesco Vermi, Francesco Buonamici and the physician Andrea Camuzzi. After quitting that post he went on to teach philosophy in Perugia, where he died on August 26, 1592.
