Of Donzelli we may also recall the work of historical nature Partenope liberata o vero racconto dell'heroica risolutione fatta dal popolo di Napoli per sottrarsi con tutto il regno dall'insopportabil gioco delli spagnuoli [Parthenopos freed or a true account of the heroic resolution taken by the people of Naples to escape with the whole kingdom from the insufferable yoke of Spanish rule], a diary of the events that took place during the revolt of Masaniello in 1647.
